Dundee United defender Keith Watson has admitted frustration has crept into their play during their current slump.
The Tangerines were hammered 3-0 by Ross County in Dingwall on Saturday, taking their run without a win to the half-a-dozen mark.
It was a day to forget for Watson and his team-mates as everything seemed to get to them, especially County’s lively attacking players.
Also, they were wound up by some erratic decisions by referee Craig Charleston and ended up with bookings for Andrew Robertson, Calum Butcher, John Rankin, Stuart Armstrong and Chris Erskine.
Now Watson is hoping that they can take a breather and assess exactly where they are going wrong in games.
“It was a hard one to take,” admitted Watson. “I thought we started quite brightly but didn’t take the wee chances we got.
“They scored the first goal and then our heads went down after that.
“After the great run we went on that’s now six without a win and it’s getting to a few of the boys.
“I think that showed a little in our play. We got frustrated too early when we were still in the match at 1-0.
“We didn’t play our own game and ended up losing 3-0. That’s a poor result and the fans will be disappointed as well having come all this way.
“I don’t know what’s changed. Perhaps it’s confidence but I don’t know why we have lost that.
“We will need to get it back quickly.”
United’s next match is against St Johnstone at home a week today and Watson is desperate to find a solution to the loss of form in time for that one.
“We need to put this game behind us,” he added.
“We don’t want to think about it again because it was so poor from us. We will get back on the training park and, hopefully, with our next game back at Tannadice, we can change things.
“With the group of players we have we should be going anywhere and getting results.
“The boys wanted three points but it’s very disappointing to have lost like that.”
