Dundee United striker Billy Mckay’s long-term future “is up in the air”, the player has admitted. The Northern Ireland international does not know if Wigan will want him back at the end of his season-long loan at Tannadice. But what he does know is that his only concern just now is making sure United avoid relegation. “Everything is up in the air,” the former Inverness Caledonian Thistle man said. “I haven’t got a clue what’s going on but I can’t afford my mind to focus on that anyway. “The situation we’re in, we’ve got to focus every day on trying to help Dundee United. “It’s good to have scored a couple of goals and, hopefully, I can kick on and score even more and help the team get out of this situation.” Motherwell are up next on Friday night and Mckay added: “Last time we played them we didn’t do ourselves justice. We weren’t good enough. “We’re going to have to try and take the positives from Saturday’s game. “We’ve ben on a good run lately so the cup win keeps the momentum ticking over and we’ll go again against Motherwell.”
