Former Dundee United midfielder Calum Butcher believes his old club can turn the corner, but only after they’ve learned the art of winning ugly.
Mixu Paatelainen’s men sit bottom of the Scottish Premiership ahead of this weekend’s crunch clash with St Johnstone and Butcher knows they have to dig deep to climb clear of the relegation zone.
The Burton Albion man said: “It’s sad to see them where they are in the league table and I couldn’t have envisaged that at the start of the season.
“It’s really about winning ugly when you’re in that position which the lads will know.
“There are plenty of good players still in that dressing-room which bodes well for the weeks ahead, but they do have to start picking up points, regardless of the performance.”
