Dundee United target John Hughes to hold Inverness talks
ByIan Roache
Dundee United managerial target John Hughes will hold talks with Inverness Caley Thistle chairman Kenny Cameron today as he considers his future.
Hughes is understood to still be interested in becoming Jackie McNamara’s replacement at Tannadice despite ICT last week turning down the Tangerines’ request to approach him.
In saying no to United, Cameron indicated he was open to extending Hughes’ contract, which is due to run out at the end of the season.
That will be the focus of today’s discussions and if there is a deal struck between Inverness and Hughes then United will have to look elsewhere.
Should that happen then the focus could turn back to St Johnstone manager Tommy Wright, who has been discussing new terms of his own with Saints since last week.
