Former Dundee United manager Jackie McNamara will have to wait to hear if he has been appointed York City boss. McNamara has been interviewed and is a leading contender to take charge of the English League Two club. However, York director Sophie McGill insisted there won’t be a rush to name the new gaffer. She said: “Interviews are still ongoing and we are not sure about the timescales at the moment. “The board are keen to ensure we make the right appointment and we are going through the whole process very carefully. “That means, at this stage, we do not know whether a decision will have been made before the weekend.”
