Dundee United Women’s Football Club are looking to kick on with the support of their sponsors.
The Tannadice side are gearing up for their first competitive match in the Scottish Women’s Football League Division Two (East) at home to Dunfermline Development at the GA Arena on Sunday, March 6.
The DUWFC players joined United director and enthusiastic supporter Justine Mitchell and team manager Gavin Beith yesterday to welcome their new backers: Dr Noodles, ArabTRUST, Paint-tec and the Dundee United Development Association (DUDA).
Justine said: “This support has ensured that the team remains totally self-sufficient, and that is a vital ingredient in the project becoming a success.
“It was important to me that, as part of our community structure at the club, we have a women’s team with a professional set-up and this has been achieved with the financial support of sponsors and some good, old-fashioned hard work.”
Gavin added: “Everything is now in place and seeing the fixtures on paper means we can now build up to the start of the season.
“The players have all been excellent so far in their efforts to get to the standard we want to be at.”
