Harry Souttar has declared himself “excited” to have pledged his future to Dundee United.
The 17-year-old development squad defender has signed an extended deal until May 2018 and his ambition is to join big brother John in the Tangerines’ first team.
Souttar, who has been named as a substitute by United for some senior games, said: “I am very pleased to have signed the extension and excited for the challenge ahead. “My goal is to keep playing well in the development squad and work towards making my debut for the first team.”
Tannadice head coach Mixu Paatelainen added: “Harry is a player with plenty of talent and is currently gaining experience with first team players.
“He is someone who offers technical ability and willingness to win the ball.”
