Scott Robertson has given a ringing endorsement to Dundee United trialist Andrei Cordos.
Tangerines boss Mixu Paatelainen has been running the rule over the big Romanian defender recently with the centre-half turning out for the Under-20s earlier this week in a win over Dunfermline.
Cordos is someone Robertson knows well from his brief spell during the summer with Botosani in Romania and the pair met again on Wednesday night in Dundee for a quick catch-up.
Robertson, who memorably helped United lift the Scottish Cup in 2010, believes the 27-year-old would be a valuable addition to the current Tangerines squad.
The Raith Rovers midfielder said: “I met up with Andrei on Wednesday night just for a quick chat and to see how he was getting on.
“He is a great guy and made me feel really welcome when I was over in Romania with Botosani.
“Andrei says he has been enjoying his time at United and from what I am hearing, he has been impressive.
“He is a top defender, is composed and good on the ball. He is also really imposing, standing 6ft 4ins tall.
“The only meaningful game I played for Botosani was against Timisoara when I had to come on for Andrei when he was injured.
“It is incredible that he is now on trial at Tannadice and I definitely think he is good enough for United.”
