Inverness CT 2 Dundee United 1: Heartbreak for 10-man Tangerines
ByRichard Rooney
Dundee United have crashed out of the League Cup after being beaten by Inverness Caley Thistle in a match that went to extra-time.
Jackie McNamara’s men got off to the perfect start with a Keith Watson goal after four minutes.
But United’s hopes suffered a blow when Nadir Ciftci was sent off for his part in a major bust-up in the first half.
Gary Warren scored early in the second half to force the game into extra-time, and Ross Draper broke the hearts of United’s travelling support with a goal with just moments to go.
See below for our as-it-happened updates from the Caledonia Stadium. And see Wednesday’s Courier for all the reaction.
