Mark Millar insists he is determined to return to Dundee United and finally prove he can be a success with the club in the Premiership.
The 25-year-old midfielder has struggled to establish himself since signing a three-year deal at Tannadice in summer 2012.
His first-team chances have again been limited this season and United boss Jackie McNamara allowed Millar to go out on loan to former club Falkirk in November.
His arrival has coincided with the Bairns’ 10-game unbeaten run with last weekend’s victory over Dundee taking Gary Holt’s side to the top of the Championship table.
Millar, who will remain with Falkirk until the end of the season, admits he is fully focused on helping them win promotion.
However, after that, the player is determined to make his mark with United.
He said: “Just now, the focus is all on Falkirk. We are on a great run and long may it continue.
“It was hard at the start as I hadn’t really played any games. I’d had a few under-20 matches but it is just not the same as playing first-team level.
“So to come here and get the chance from the manager has been brilliant. He has put a lot of faith in me, bringing me back here and I have a lot to thank him and the Falkirk staff for.
“I am just delighted that I’m doing well for them. I still have a year left on my contract with United so I obviously have a lot of game time remaining there.
“If I am in the manager’s plans then brilliant but if I am not then wherever I may be, I will be trying my best regardless.
“If it is Dundee United, Falkirk, anywhere … but I really want to go back next year and do well at Tannadice.
“I haven’t spoken to the manager recently. He just told me to come here, get game time and do well. I am really thankful to the gaffer for letting me do that.”
