Dave Bowman placed in temporary charge of Dundee United

Dave Bowman has been placed in caretaker charge of Dundee United while the club looks to appoint a new, permanent manager.

The Tannadice youth coach and former player is being assisted by team captain Sean Dillon.

The pair oversaw training at St Andrews on the first day back at work following Saturday’s decision by the board to part company with boss Jackie McNamara.

Official confirmation of McNamara’s departure has yet to be announced by the Tangerines but it is understood progress is being made in talks between the two parties regarding a severance package.
