Dundee United are optimistic that defender Coll Donaldson could be available for Saturday’s trip to Partick Thistle.
The former Livingston and QPR defender broke his nose early in the Kilmarnock match and was substituted after just 14 minutes as a result.
He will be assessed later in the week, as will midfielder Guy Demel, who hobbled off on Saturday.
Meanwhile, United continue to be linked with more possible signings.
The latest is Partick midfielder Steven Lawless.
The 24-year-old has been a Firhill regular and is in line to play for the Jags in Saturday’s crucial league encounter.
But he is out of contract in the summer and United are understood to be one of the clubs interested in him.
The fact that Chris Erskine has signed a pre-contract with Thistle and didn’t play against Killie would raise the prospect of a potential player switch before Monday’s transfer deadline.
One player who has already left Tannadice is Aidan Connolly.
The forward has joined Raith Rovers and admitted he was “gutted” to depart United.
He said: “Mixu felt I wasn’t going to play and told me so, which was hard to take.
“It was a dream to go there but things can change so quickly in football.
“It’s about how you bounce back and I’m very confident in my own ability.
“The best thing for me now is to get regular first team football with Raith Rovers and see where it takes me.”
