Gavin Gunning a doubt for Dundee United’s trip to Partick Thistle

Dundee United defender Gavin Gunning is an injury doubt for Saturday’s trip to Firhill.
The Irishman would have missed Monday’s clash with St Johnstone had it not been postponed due to a waterlogged Tannadice pitch.
Even with the extra time to prepare, it appears the Jags game will come too soon for Gunning. He has suffered a knee injury in training just a short time after getting the all-clear on a previous hamstring problem.
United boss Jackie McNamara said: “Gavin blocked a shot in training and just felt something. It is frustrating for everyone because Gavin is an important player and it’s been a stop-start season for him.
“We will have to see how things work out but, at the moment, I would have to say he is a doubt for the Thistle game.
“He wouldn’t have made the St Johnstone game so we just have to be careful with him.”
