Ray McKinnon’s departure as Dundee United manager has yet to be officially confirmed, but already the bookies are offering odds on who will replace him.
McKinnon’s reign at Tannadice looks certain to be over after a second straight defeat in the league to Inverness Caley Thistle on Saturday.
With McKinnon himself describing it as the worst display since he took over, it seems the United directors have been forced to act.
The favourite to take over appears to be former Hibs and Raith Rovers boss John Hughes, but that suggestion seems to have split the United fanbase.
Some see his no-nonsense style as exactly what is needed to shake up what is commonly regarded as the strongest squad in the Championship, but other fans fear his recent failure to keep Raith Rovers in that league should mean United look elsewhere.
The other main contender appears to be former United player Jim McIntyre.
His recent spell at Ross County saw them lift their first major trophy, the Scottish League Cup, in 2016 but he was sacked by County in September 2017.
So who do you think would do the best job of leading United back to the Premiership? Vote in the poll above.
