Dundee United central defender Callum Morris is in contention for his first start of the season when Kilmarnock visit Tannadice.
The big Geordie has been suffering from a thigh problem and has not played since the draw with St Johnstone on May 9.
However, having come through an under-20 game against Rangers at Glebe Park in midweek, Morris is ready to resume his place at the heart of the Tangerines’ backline tomorrow.
United boss Jackie McNamara said: “Callum Morris has come through the game on Tuesday.
“He has trained with us and is in contention for Saturday.
“We have missed his strength, presence and pace.
“He has been a big loss to us so it’s great to have him back.”
As well as a boost for the backline, McNamara the other areas of the park have been given a shot in the arm as well.
United paraded new strike duo Billy Mckay and Adam Taggart together for the first time at St Andrews yesterday, and they were also joined by new midfield man Aaron Kuhl.
McNamara added: “I feel we are getting there.
“We’ve got the new lads in, although Billy was here for our last game against Ross County.
“I feel we have quality options in the forward line.
“I have trust as a manager that goals are coming and everyone is pushing each other.
“It doesn’t matter what’s gone before, it’s about pushing for that jersey and I feel I have that now in all positions.
“The tail end of last season I was limited in terms of options. Maybe I have too many options now but that’s a good thing.
“Could I see the two new lads playing up front together? Yes.
“Adam is a fantastic finisher and very quick. Billy had great game intelligence and movement. So we have good options there.”
