Dundee United fail to have Barry Douglas’ red card overturned

Dundee United have failed in their bid to have Barry Douglas’s red card received against Ross County rescinded.
Tannadice boss Jackie McNamara travelled through to Hampden for the hearing on Thursday morning but left disappointed, with his left-back now set to miss the next two games through suspension.
TV evidence showed the United man won the ball cleanly before colliding with Sproule, with McNamara insisting afterwards: “I didn’t even think it was a yellow card. He got the ball and he made very little contact with Ivan.”
Despite those protestations, the SFA disciplinary panel upheld Clancy’s decision.
McNamara said: “I am really disappointed that our appeal has been rejected.”
