DUNDEE UNITED manager Peter Houston believes he may just have the best ball-winning midfielder in Scotland in his team.
Willo Flood is a leading candidate to be the Tangerines’ player of the season and his performances are delighting his boss.
Houston believes the wee Irishman is playing as well as he did towards the end of his first spell at Tannadice, which ended when he moved to Celtic.
“I think Willo’s form is as good now as at any time since he came back to the club,” said Houston. “He is dictating a lot of games for us.
“He is setting the tone of matches by being aggressive, going into tackles and winning them, and never giving up. His form is like it was prior to his getting the move to Celtic.
“We need his experience and we look to him to give the young players a lead. When he is challenging and getting up close to opponents, there is no one better at it in Scottish football than Willo.”
