Cowdenbeath boss Colin Cameron believes there has been plenty of evidence to show the gap between top and bottom in the Championship isn’t wide, writes Ian Roache.
Cowden welcome Greenock Morton to Central Park, a meeting of teams at the wrong end of the table. Ton are the basement boys while their hosts sit just a point better off in ninth.
However, as Cameron rightly pointed out, both clubs could easily have recorded what would have been terrific victories.
While Cameron’s players were being robbed of victory at Queen of the South by a late equaliser, Allan Moore’s men were outplaying league leaders Hamilton Accies at Cappielow, only to finish all square.
“We certainly showed the standard we are capable of down at Palmerston,” said the Blue Brazil boss.
“We created numerous opportunities to score and really should have had the game won.
“We came back up the road with one point when it should have been three but we can take confidence from how we played.
“I think every game in this division is tough, but it is certainly not easy to go down to Queen of the South and get a result.
“And while we were drawing in Dumfries, Morton were doing great against Hamilton in what was a bottom versus top match.
“My reports from that game suggest Morton were very unlucky not to have won that one, so that shows how close a division this can be.”
