Brechin boss Ray McKinnon is set to run the rule over former Dundee striker Leighton McIntosh in Thursday night’s Forfarshire Cup tie against Forfar at Station Park.
The 21-year-old has been without a club since being released by Dark Blues boss Paul Hartley at the end of last season and McKinnon is keen to see him in action before offering a deal.
McIntosh burst on to the footballing scene early in 2011 and he was awarded the Young Player of the Month Award in April that year.
However, he failed to build on that promising start.
The Scottish under-19 cap spent season 2012-13 on loan at Montrose and then had a four-month period at Arbroath last season on a similar basis.
McKinnon said: “I am keen to see Leighton in action and he is keen to play so he will get a run-out against Forfar and we will take things from there.”
