St Johnstone contact ruling body for second time over fine
ByNeil Robertson
ST JOHNSTONE have written to Uefa for a second time in what can be termed a “belt and braces” move to ensure the governing body is aware they are seeking a full explanation after being hit with an 18,000 euro fine.
The financial penalty was imposed by Uefa after a match delegate spotted a Palestinian flag being waved during the Europa League tie at McDiarmid with Spartak Trnava.
There was also an allegation of pro-Palestinian chanting and Uefa rules prohibit messages of a political and ideological nature in any football stadium.
St Johnstone are seeking a written judgement from Uefa and they have now contacted the ruling body a second time to ensure their request is being processed.
