St Johnstone have signed Hearts central defender Brad McKay on a pre-contract agreement.
Both clubs announced that the 21-year-old would move to Perth in the summer when his contract expires.
McKay was a regular for Hearts in the Scottish Premiership last season but his appearances have been limited to just nine this term as he found his path to the team blocked by Danny Wilson and Alim Ozturk.
Saints manager Tommy Wright said: “I’m really pleased to get a good young defender into the club and one who has good SPFL experience already. Brad is a player we have been keeping tabs on and I’m sure he will be a great addition to the squad.”
McKay, who will sign a two-year deal, commented: “I’m delighted to sort out my future. It’s a good move for me – I’ve heard nothing but positive things about the club and Tommy Wright.”
Hearts head coach Robbie Neilson said: “I think this will be a good move for Brad. We don’t want to stand in anyone’s way – he wants to be playing more first team games and hopefully he will do that next season.
“In the meantime I am sure he will continue to work hard for us and be ready if called upon.”
