Scottish Cup winner Paddy Cregg still seeking club after leaving St Johnstone
ByThe Courier Reporter
Paddy Cregg, who was one of St Johnstone’s Scottish Cup winners back in May, watched the league season kick-off at the weekend, frustrated that he is still without a club.
The 28-year-old was released just days after Saints’ Celtic Park triumph, in which he was an unused sub.
Cregg started his career at Arsenal before playing more than 100 games for Falkirk and he had stints at Hibs, Morton, St Mirren and Bury before joining the Saints in 2012.
Following his release, Cregg had interested Torquay and Partick Thistle but nothing concrete has happened.
Cregg said: “It is funny how things turn out as my last game was a Scottish Cup final.
“It was disappointing to leave St Johnstone after such a high and their manager Tommy Wright said a lot of nice things when I left.
“Apart from a short spell at Bury and my youth days at Arsenal, I have always played in Scotland and hopefully I can get fixed up before long.”
