St Johnstone look at defenders as Tam Scobbie is ruled out for season
ByIan Roache
St Johnstone manager Tommy Wright will take a look at two defenders after Tam Scobbie was ruled out for the rest of the season.
Scobbie has damaged his ankle ligaments and needs surgery so will be sidelined as Saints try to finish in the top six of the Premiership and make progress in the Scottish Cup.
It is an unfortunate coincidence for Saints that Scobbie now has the suffered the same injury as that suffered by fellow defender Frazer Wright.
Wright could make it back to first-team action once recovered but Scobbie’s season is definitely over.
With that in mind, manager Tommy Wright has welcomed former Motherwell defender Tim Clancy and ex-Norwich man Michael Spillane to training in order to run the rule over them.
