Alan Mannus will bounce back from the mistake that cost St Johnstone two points at the weekend, according to manager Tommy Wright.
The Northern Ireland international let a 90th-minute Kris Doolan strike through his grasp, denying the home team their third successive league win.
It was an uncharacteristic error from Mannus, who Wright rates as one of the best goalkeepers in the Scottish Premiership.
He has backed his fellow countryman to return to top form at Kilmarnock on Saturday.
Wright a former keeper himself and specialist coach for that position said: “The bounce maybe caught him by surprise, but Alan admits he should have saved that one and he was disappointed after the game.
“But he has been magnificent for us all season. Alan has saved us many times, most recently in our win over Dundee United in the derby.
“He has been absolutely superb for me and he will be working hard this week. He will get over it.
“Alan has proved himself to be a top-class keeper here and one of the most consistent in the league.
“We have had 21 clean sheets and he’s been as consistent as any keeper outwith Fraser Forster at Celtic.”
