The break-up of St Johnstone’s Scottish Cup final winning squad has begun, with Paddy Cregg, Nigel Hasselbaink, Chris Iwelumo and Tim Clancy leaving the Perth club.
Two of the Celtic Park heroes though – Steven Anderson and Gary Miller – have joined back-up keeper Steve Banks in agreeing new deals.
Cregg and Hasselbaink have both been important players for Saints over the last two years, but have found first team starts increasingly rare over recent months.
Iwelumo was brought in on a short-term deal just before the League Cup semi-final. He hasn’t featured much and didn’t find the net in his time at Saints.
All three were on the bench at Celtic Park on Saturday and picked up Scottish Cup winners’ medals, but Clancy had returned to Ireland after injuring his Achilles two days before the match.
Anderson is now under contract for the next two years, with Miller and Banks tied up for one each.
