St Johnstone will get down to business at Europa League draw
ByIan Roache
St Johnstone will be represented at the Europa League draw when it is made later this month.
They are sending associate director Abby Ramsay and the club’s football administrator Paul Smith to Nyon in Switzerland for the June 23 ceremony.
The Perth club are keen to be quick off the mark in making arrangements for their second qualifying round match, which will be played on July 17 and 24.
Smith and other staff at McDiarmid Park worked wonders in getting visas for players and officials for the trip to Belarus to play FC Minsk last year with just a week’s notice but will be looking for a more straightforward draw this time.
Saints, despite being Scotland’s senior representative as Scottish Cup winners, are unseeded.
Aberdeen are seeded for the first qualifying round, which is played on July 3 and 10, while Motherwell go in with Saints at the second stage but are seeded.
