FC Luzern v St Johnstone: Swiss players told to up their game for Saints tie
ByThe Courier Reporter
Luzern boss Carlos Bernegger has told his players they will need to up their game if they are to beat Saints.
Bernegger is urging improvement from the form shown so far this summer, saying: “We must fight a lot against the Scottish Cup winners.
“Our game must be quicker than in the pre-season test games. It’s a special situation because of our many new players.
“I know we have now time to find our powerful game so early in the season, but we must be ready from zero to 100.
“Every player must go over his limits and think first for the team to be successful.”
New Luzern midfielder Thierry Doubai, formerly of Udinese and Sochaux, echoed his coach’s words, saying: “We have to play with higher speed and then we have a good chance to win over St Johnstone and go into the next round.”
