St Johnstone’s early Scottish Cup exit will make them all the more determined to taste League Cup glory, according to captain Dave Mackay. Saturday’s 1-0 defeat to Kilmarnock was a tough one for the Perth men to take, the veteran defender admitted. But they will soon have a semi-final of another major competition against Hibs to focus on. “That’s us been put out twice early doors after winning it,” said Mackay. “But we’ve still got a lot to look forward to. “We’re going well in the league but it’s just the League Cup as far as the cups are concerned for us now. “We’ll be going all out to win that.” Chris Millar’s availability for that semi-final may be in doubt. He hobbled off with a few minutes left on Saturday and manager Tommy Wright confirmed it was another hamstring injury.
