St Johnstone winger Gwion Edwards was “gutted” after seeing his chance to shine effectively swept away by the elements at the weekend.
The 20-year-old, on loan from Swansea, has found first-team opportunities hard to come by since re-signing for Saints but would have been delighted to see his name in the starting line-up for Saturday’s game at Partick Thistle.
The Welshman, however, was only given 45 minutes to show what he can do as the match officials decided to abandon the game with the score at 0-0.
“The left side of the pitch was quite bad to be fair and it was hard to judge the ball,” Edwards said.
“When I was trying to run with the ball it was just getting caught all the time. In some ways it helped me a bit sometimes but it’s a shame it got postponed because I think we could have got another 45 minutes.
“I got told to run at them and when I got the chance I just couldn’t run at them. I couldn’t really get the ball down and do it, but I had a few little runs and tried to keep the ball for the team. I was just gutted it was postponed.
“I’ve been training well and working hard in training, so I was just hoping I would get a chance.”
