St Johnstone’s Tam Scobbie faces semi-final ban By Eric Nicolson January 22 2014, 12:35pm January 22 2014, 12:35pm Share St Johnstone’s Tam Scobbie faces semi-final ban Share via Facebook Twitter Linkedin Whatsapp Messenger Email Post link https://www.thecourier.co.uk/sport/football/st-johnstone/244775/st-johnstones-tam-scobbie-faces-semi-final-ban/ Copy Link Referee Brian Colvin speaks to Tam Scobbie as he prepares to go in goal. St Johnstone defender Tam Scobbie looks like missing the Perth club’s League Cup semi-final. The full-back has been charged by the SFA with an assault on Heart’s Brad McKay during Saturday’s incident-packed clash at McDiarmid Park. He has been offered a two-match ban, which would rule him out of the semi-final against Aberdeen and the league trip to Dundee United before it. He has until 3pm on Wednesday to lodge an intention to appeal. The hearing – should he appeal – will take place on Thursday. The charge claims ”Violent Conduct by headbutting or attempting to headbutt an opposing player, namely Brad McKay”. Scobbie will become the third suspension casualty for Saints from Saturday’s match – with Steven Anderson and Alan Mannus both red-carded. They also lost Murray Davidson for the season through injury. It was an eventful game for Scobbie personally, as he had to take over in goal from Mannus and conceded the injury time equaliser in the 3-3 draw.
