St Johnstone manager Tommy Wright has a dilemma ahead of Saturday’s trip to Inverness, particularly when it comes to filling defensive slots.
Centre half Frazer Wright will be back available following a three-game suspension, so the Saints boss will have to decide whether or not to return the 33-year-old to the starting line-up or stick with a back-line that has looked solid in the past four games.
Whatever first team Wright plumps for, the Perth boss believes his players are capable of heading back down the A9 with three more points in the bag.
“We played Frazer in the under-20s the other night,so he’ll come back into the squad,” he said.
“So I will have a decision to make. I’ve got a team in my head, we’ll work on things before the game and we’ll look forward to the game.
“Inverness have been outstanding last season and this season, and they’ve probably even got better. Terry Butcher brought in some good players again, but we have to look at the last time we played them and we played extremely well.
“I think it’s down to working extremely hard as a unit and I think there’s a good deal of mobility and flexibility in the team. We’ve also passed the ball well recently and I think that’s important.”
Saints ran out convincing 4-0 winners when the teams last met at McDiarmid Park, and Wright hopes that result will work for his side rather than against them going into Saturday’s fixture.
He continued: “Inverness will probably use it as a motivation but I think we can use it as motivation as well, because we know if we do this, this and this, we know we can win the game.
“I think one thing you have got to do when you play against Inverness is match the workrate and we are more than capable of doing that.
“If we do that we’ve got more than a good chance of going up there and getting the three points.”
