St Johnstone winger Lee Croft has been handed a retrospective two-game ban by the SFA in the wake of Saturday’s Scottish Cup clash with Ross County. The former Manchester City man is accused of breaching Disciplinary Rule 200 “by committing an act of serious foul play” upon Liam Boyce. Croft tackled Boyce in midfield directly before County went up the pitch and scored their goal to make it 2-1 in the cup tie. Referee John Beaton took no action at the time. Croft has been given a two-match ban (one match immediate and the other to be served in the next cup game at Queen of the South). He has until Wednesday to lodge an appeal, and a hearing date has been set for Thursday. Saints will not be commenting on the issue at this stage and are considering whether to appeal.
