Danny Swanson is determined to help St Johnstone get into Europe again but this time he wants to be part of the summer adventure.
Saints’ new signing played a big role in securing a place in the Europa League qualifiers for the Perth men after arriving on loan from Coventry 12 months ago.
He returned to his parent club at the end of that season though, only being allowed to move on after Saints had been knocked out of the competition.
Now, after securing his release from Hearts and signing a one-and-a-half year deal with the McDiarmid Park side, Swanson has an obvious end of season goal.
“I actually streamed the Saints game against Alashkert when I was sitting in a hotel in Coventry,” the 29-year-old said.
“I had helped the team qualify for Europe and I was thinking I could have been playing.
“It would be nice to get there again.
“Obviously we are out of the cups but well placed in the league.
“Hearts are a good team, strong and physical. But St Johnstone looked good against them recently, although they were down to 10 men.
“Saints also looked strong and they have a core of experienced players. So we should be looking up the way, not down.”
