St Johnstone midfielder keen to avoid an unwanted hat-trick

Murray Davidson is “desperate” not to complete a hat-trick of missed semi-finals in a row.
The St Johnstone midfielder picked up a hip injury at Celtic Park on Saturday and is a doubt for Saturday’s League Cup last four clash with Hibs.
After a long-term knee injury sidelined him for Saints’ two semi-finals with Aberdeen in 2014, the last thing he wants is to make it three at the weekend.
“I felt my hip flexor tighten up on Saturday,” Davidson said. “We just need to wait and see.
“The good thing is that I didn’t feel a pull.
“We’re hoping that I came off in time. Time will tell.
“You want to play in every game but obviously having missed semi-finals and finals over recent years it’s a game I’m desperate to play in.
“That goes without saying.”
