Alan Mannus didn’t play when St Johnstone won 5-1 at Aberdeen earlier in the season.
Another thrashing of Derek McInnes’s side is highly unlikely today, but any sort of victory would be satisfying for the Northern Ireland keeper at Pittodrie.
Mannus, who was suspended for the October rout, said: “We did well on our last trip to Pittodrie and of course we’d take that again.
“I wasn’t involved but I would love to have been involved with that scoreline and performance.
“But we’d take any sort of win this time.”
The last time the two teams played was a frustrating afternoon for the Perth men, who lost 4-3.
Mannus said: “You think if you score three goals you’re going to win the game but the last match against Aberdeen was just one of those games.
“We sat in the dressing room afterwards wondering how four goals like that went in – I think three of them were deflected.
“You usually concede one goal like that in every few games but we got four in one game!
“It’s not good for a keeper to lose four goals but it happens in your career. If you play regularly then there’s always a chance of it happening but it’s not nice.
“It wasn’t to be for us but there were positives to take into this game in the fact we kept coming back.”
