St Johnstone’s stealth attack on third place in the SPL is still on course after a once-in-a-generation win against Dundee United on Saturday.
And Saints defender Tam Scobbie insisted that the Perth men are quite happy to still be treated as the dark horses for Europa League football next season.
After helping his team to their first league victory over United in 13 years which keeps them just one point off Inverness Caledonian Thistle, Scobbie admitted that their efforts haven’t enjoyed the attention of their two Highland rivals.
“Maybe so, yes,” the former Falkirk man said.
“People have been talking about Inverness and Ross County and that’s fair enough I suppose. Inverness have had a great season and Ross County, to finish top six in their first season in the SPL is terrific,” said Scobbie.
“But we like it the way it is, we keep our cards close to our chest and we just look out for number one, which is us.
“We are defying people. After the first few games people were talking about us for relegation but we’ve turned it around. We’ve kept our heads up and worked together and that’s what got us through.
“If we go under the radar compared to other clubs then that’s fine by us. We will just keep kicking on.”
