Paying for a round of golf at one the world’s most famous courses will get slightly more expensive next year.
St Andrews Links Trust has announced it is increasing its visitor green fees for three out of the seven courses it manages and maintains, including the Old Course.
The decision means the new high-season fee for the links which last month hosted the Open Championship will rise £10 to £140.
Others affected are the New and Jubilee courses, which will change to £70, an increase of £5. Green fees for the Castle, Eden, Strathtyrum and Balgove courses will remain the same.
The Castle Course will be included in the Links’ three and seven-day tickets and advance three and seven-day tickets that can be reserved without a surcharge from April 18, 2011.
Chief executive of St Andrews Links Trust Alan McGregor said, “Trustees gave careful consideration to setting the green fees for 2011 and decided that modest increases on some of the courses were appropriate.”
The application forms for advanced reservations on the courses are available at www.standrews.org.uk
