New golf website will suit bargain hunters to a tee

A professional golfer has teed off a new business allowing players to claim green fee discounts.

PGA pro at Ladybank Golf Club Alan Lockhart launched LateTtimes.co.uk with fiancee Emma McElhill.

Some of Scotland’s top golf clubs have signed up to the website, which was aided by Business Gateway Stirling.

Users can book rounds with discounts of at least 50% at courses including Scotscraig, Downfield and Monifieth Links.

Alan, of Bridge of Allan, said the website would help clubs sell off-peak tee times which might otherwise go unused.

He said, “Four years ago the website wouldn’t have worked but, since the recession has hit, and because golf is classed as a luxury sport, many clubs are suffering, membership and visitor numbers have dropped.”
