Dustin Johnson closed with a 68 to win the first PGA golf tournament of the year at the Hyundai Tournament of Champions in Hawaii.
The American finished on 16-under-par to claim the title by four shots from Steve Stricker.
Brandt Snedeker finished third at 10-under after his last-round 69, one ahead of two more Americans, Bubba Watson and Keegan Bradley.
Carl Petterson was the top European finisher in the 30-strong field. The Swede shot a 70 to finish on seven-under, two clear of England’s Ian Poulter, who had a 69 yesterday.
The 28-year-old Johnson, who had two sixes on his card in the final round in windy conditions, has now won seven times on the PGA tour.
The tournament had been delayed for three days as winds of up to 50mph made play impossible, meaning two rounds had to be completed on Monday.
Stricker’s efforts came despite continuing problems with shooting pains down his left side, which he has felt for the past month.
