Reigning champions Belfast Giants got their Elite League ice hockey campaign off to a strong start as they claimed a 4-1 victory over Stars at Dundee Ice Arena.
Brad Plumton got the hosts’ goal to make the score 3-1 and give Stars some hope but an empty-net strike just before time expired sealed Giants win in the league and Challenge Cup double-header.
Ray Sawada, Craig Peacock, Darryl Lloyd and Evan Cheverie were on target for the visitors, who take on Braehead Clan tonight and Edinburgh on Sunday.
