Dundee Stars under-pressure coach Jeff Hutchins has rounded on the boo-boys.
The Tayside team prop up the Elite League, a far cry from finishing third last season.
But the club’s player/coach wants fans to get behind the club not to talk negatively about their situation.
Rock-bottom Dundee travel to fifth-placed Sheffield Steelers.
He said: “There are only two points between us and fifth place. We’re only 10 games into the season. Fans need to stop being negative and to support the team.
“I’m sick to death of people comparing this team to last year’s team. It is a different team and it will take time.
“I don’t want to talk about last year. Last year was last year and the negativity which is surrounding the club at the moment, mainly from certain supporters, is ridiculous.
“There is not much difference in points between 10th and fifth (three to be exact) and it takes time for a team to gel.
“We’ll turn this ship around.”
Hutchins brought in American defenceman Ryan Grimshaw last weekend and he is still looking at other possibilities.
He added: “Things are going on in the background. Everything I do is with the interests of the club at heart and we have got to be patient.”
