Ice hockey: Dundee Tigers want to send a message to play-off opponents
ByThe Courier Reporter
Dundee Tigers complete their Scottish National League ice hockey season with a visit to Paisley Pirates on Sunday.
The Tayside club’s player/coach, Ian Carstairs, is hoping for a result that will send a message to the rest of the league ahead of the end-of-season play-offs.
Carstairs said: “This is our last chance to get a good result before the play-off quarter-finals. Pirates have had some mixed results this season and I expect this to be a close match.
“We have to match Paisley physically, but we’ve got to stay disciplined and out of the penalty box. They’re a good puck-moving team and can really punish you when they have the man advantage.
“However, we’ve got an opportunity to send a message to our play-off opponents. And we want it to be that we can’t be taken lightly.”
