Gordon Shedden bidding to retain Touring Car title
ByThe Courier Reporter
Reigning British Touring Car champion Gordon Shedden has set his sights on retaining his crown after returning to testing.
The Fife driver expressed his delight at being back behind the wheel of his Honda Civic for the first time since claiming the 2012 BTCC title with a race to spare at Brands Hatch in October.
Preparations are now in full swing for the 2013 season and Shedden, who became the first Scot to lift the trophy since John Cleland in 1995, was busy testing his car at Thruxston.
Shedden, from Dalgety Bay, was delighted to win his first title last year and is keen to win a few more, having only turned 34 last Friday.
“The next couple of weeks I’ll be pounding the miles on the tarmac, going hard at it in 2013 to try and retain my title,” he said.
