Perth’s Ben Greenwood has won a bronze medal at the Commonwealth Youth Games in Samoa.
As well as setting a new personal best of 1.50.40 in the the 800m final, the Perth Strathtay athlete also sliced a couple of hundredths off his own Scottish national under-17 record.
Two Kenyan athletes had gold and silver wrapped up, with Greenwood producing a determined finish to ensure all six Scots in track and field at the Games have medalled – an unprecedented achievement.
Youth Team Scotland’s medal total sits at 14, with two days of competition left.
The country’s first gold was won by swimmer Erin Robertson in the 50m breaststroke.
