DANIEL Topping claimed three goals but Edinburgh Capitals ran out comfortable 11-3 winners against an under-strength Dundee Tigers squad in the semi-final of ice hockey’s Autumn Cup.
Ross Hay netted a treble for the visitors who laid the platform with a 5-2 first period scoreline.
They won the second session 2-1 and the third 4-0 and Ian Carstairs, Tigers’ player coach, said: “This is not the way we wanted the season to end.
“It was very disappointing in terms of the result and the manner of it but we only started with 11 skaters and were reduced to nine skaters during the game.
“This was, however, a good effort from the guys who worked hard but this was very disappointing.”
