Fife Flyers have been sent a warning as they build towards two crunch games with rivals Braehead Clan.
The Kirkcaldy club need back-to-back wins over the Glasgow side to secure a place in the end-of-season play-offs. And the men from Rosslyn Street are on a high after weekend victories over Belfast Giants and Dundee Stars.
Fifth-placed Braehead go into the game on the back of three straight defeats. Defenceman Scott Aarssen admitted they were frustrated particularly after leading 3-1 at Belfast going into the third period.
The Clan lost 4-3 in overtime and Aarssen said: “We have look ahead to the two remaining regular season games then the play-offs.”
Fife’s associate player-coach Danny Stewart said: “So far, we’re injury free and the guys are enjoying their hockey right now.
“We showed real character last weekend and on Sunday we played really well outshooting Dundee 19-7 in the first period, for example, and we were 1-0 down.
Earlier in the season the guys’ heads went down but we kept on working and found a way.
“This weekend will be like that. We’ll have to find a way if we want to make the play-offs.”
