Medals galore for Fife swimmer Janet McLean at East District Masters
ByThe Courier Reporter
Fife swimmer Janet McLean was in impressive form in the pool at the East District Masters meet in Prestonpans at the weekend.
McLean is part of the Carnegie Masters quartet but work and university commitments, illness and car failure meant she was the club’s sole representative at the event and prevented entry into relays where the club has an outstanding track record.
However, she did not let the club down and won no fewer than six gold medals swimming in the 40-44 age group.
McLean enjoyed successes in the 200m freestyle, 100m backstroke, 100m freestyle, 100m breaststroke, 100m butterfly and 400m butterfly challenge.
Next up is the Silver City Blues Meet in Aberdeen next month the first Scottish Masters event of the year.
