Former Dundee star Gavin Rae is one of seven out-of-contract players being released by Aberdeen.
New Dons boss Derek McInnes is also not renewing deals for Rory Fallon, Mitch Megginson, Rob Milsom, Gary Naysmith, Isaac Osbourn and Dan Twardzik when their current deals expire at the end of the month.
Midfielders Stephen Hughes and Jordon Brown, who has been on loan at Forfar, have been informed they are free to look for a new club.
The Reds also confirmed youngsters Scott MacAulay, Zach Szemis, Stuart Close and Jamie Hamilton will be leaving the club too.
McInnes does, however, plan to offer striker Josh Magennis a new deal.
