Fife Flyers go into tonight’s Elite League clash at arch rivals Dundee Stars searching for mental toughness.
The Kirkcaldy club have lost their last five games in all competitions, a run which started with a defeat at Dundee.
However, coach Todd Dutiaume and his associate Danny Stewart have not dipped into the transfer market yet and still believe they have the players to win games and move up the table.
Stewart, a survivor of many derby battles, said: “Nobody is feeling sorry for themselves here and everybody knows we can be better.
“We have the potential in this dressing room and we have bags of experience, guys have been around the world playing hockey, but guys have to give it their all for 60 minutes.
“The belief is there but sometimes, when things go wrong, the heads go down.
“It’s sometimes inexplicable but it would appear to be more a mental thing but as we have talent in the room.”
