Kirkcaldy racer Jonny Adam is gearing up for his first race in the United States after being drafted in for the Rolex 24 event at Daytona this weekend.
The 29-year-old Scot was a late call-up but says he was delighted to get the nod from TRG Aston Martin Racing to head stateside, having shown what he can do behind the wheel in previous tests with the squad.
Adam will join fellow Scot Calum Lockie as well as Robert Nimkroff, Peter McIntosh and Max Riddle in the #009 V12 Vantage to contest the GTD class in the 52nd edition of the race at the Daytona International Speedway.
The Fifer said: “It all came together at the last minute but I know the team and the car from testing with them and it will be my third 24-hour race, so I’m going into it well prepared.
“It will be nice to finally make my US race debut as I’ve tested over there a few times now.
“I couldn’t believe how many people turned up to watch that, so the atmosphere should be amazing come race weekend.
“TRG are a really professional outfit and have had plenty of success in the past with other marques, and I’m looking forward to helping them do the same now they are an Aston Martin team.
“We’ve got a great mix of youth and experience in the line-up which is ideal.”
The Daytona 24, which will be the inaugural race for the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship combining the newly unified GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series and the American Le Mans Series, will be the first outing in what will be a busy season for the in-demand Camberley driver.
